It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane!…It’s SUPERMOON!

“Oh, I’m being followed by a moonshadow; moonshadow,
moonshadow; Leapin’ and hoppin’ on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow..”

stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite…”

stars up above in the sky…”

again; Because I’m still in love with you; On this harvest moon…”

my legs don’t break, walkin’ on the moon…”
The Police, Walking on the Moon

This month’s full moon is known as a “supermoon”; but
there’s more to this celestial body than meets the eye!  On Sunday, June 23, the moon will be at its
closest point to the Earth—called perigee…and gee, isn’t THAT spectacular. At
its fullest and closest, the moon will appear approximately 14% larger and 30%
brighter in the sky!

As this amazing lunar experience takes place, we would do
well to take full advantage of this powerful moon’s energy. Full moons are a
time for “releasing”—of letting go of that which no longer serves us.  Each month, we have the opportunity to
“re-set” with the new moon; but in order to do this, we must “release” with the
full moon.

A fun and positive way to create your own monthly full moon
release is to take out a piece of paper and write the following at the top: “I
fully and freely release that which no longer serves my highest good and fuels
my greatest joy.” Once you have written this as the heading, underneath,
begin to list those things you would like to release…anything and everything
counts. Once you have completed your list, write a final line below that reads:
“Thank you!”

Now it’s time to literally let go. As you sit under the
light of the full moon, fold the paper as small as possible, and in a SAFE
MANNER, perhaps on the BBQ, burn this small piece of paper—watch the gentle
billow of smoke rise into the sky; into the direction of the moon. Feel the release by drawing in a deep
breath and exhaling fully…and once again, say “Thank you…”
